US TODAY!
Syndication is the selling of articles and photographs to several
newspapers or magazines for simultaneous or later publication.
We license rights in copyright material from our writers and protect
these rights.
There
are many journalists writing today who are familiar with syndication
and rely on agencies like IFA for a significant portion of their
income each month.
IFA
specialises in finding the right publications for your features.
Go to Who We Are for more details.
WHO
WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Our journalists cover a variety of subjects, from culture and
entertainment to business and current affairs. In order to work
with IFA you should be an established and experienced journalist.
Don’t think of us as the starting point of your career,
but rather as a way to further expand the outlets available to
you.
WHAT
SELLS?
To be successful as an IFA journalist, you should be writing regularly
on subjects that have worldwide appeal. Go to What
We Offer for a more detailed description.

ARE
YOU ELIGIBLE?
In order to be represented by IFA it is essential that you are
the owner of the copyright on your work. Freelancers own their
own copyright in nearly all cases, although agreements made on
specific features vary.
When
working on the salaried staff of a magazine or newspaper, it is
usually the publication who owns, or co-owns the copyright and
has the rights to syndication revenues or part of it.
Each
situation is different, so it is best to check with the editors
you work with to be sure that the copyright is yours.
HOW
WE WORK
IFA sells existing and commissioned features. Existing features
are offered on consideration basis, meaning that editors have
at least 3 days to decide whether or not they want to publish.
Commissioned work is never written on speculation. Go to What
We Do for a more complete explanation of how we work.
